SOCIAL WORK & COUNSELLING
Social work and counseling share common skills such as active listening, empathy, and communication, which are essential for client interaction.
Both professions aim to improve client well-being but differ in scope; counseling is more clinical, whereas social work encompasses a wider range of social services and advocacy.

Social workers often use these counseling skills to support individuals and communities by addressing social issues and connecting them to resources. Narrative therapy, person centered approaches are use in my practice.
Counsellors focus on therapeutic interventions for mental health, social workers adopt a broader approach, tackling social barriers and advocating for systemic change.

APPROCHES
Person Centred Approach; Psychotherapy
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Art Therapy, and others
Person-centered approach
I use often person-centered approach because it recognizes that individuals naturally strive towards self-actualization and personal growth. This emphasizes personal growth, self-acceptance, and self-actualization. It focuses on enhancing self-awareness and encouraging individuals to take responsibility for their choices and actions.
Both Person-Centered Therapy and Existential Therapy prioritize the individual's subjective experience and personal growth. However, while Person-Centered Therapy emphasizes the importance of empathy, unconditional positive regard, and self-acceptance, Existential Therapy focuses on confronting existential concerns and finding meaning and authenticity in life.
Art Therapy
Art therapy is a form of expressive therapy that involves using art materials to explore emotions, thoughts, and experiences. A licensed art therapist usually conducts the sessions, and the clients may range from children to adults. The therapist provides a safe and supportive environment where clients can freely create art without fear of judgment.
During a typical art therapy session, the therapist might start with a brief introduction and encourage the clients to comfortably share their thoughts or feelings. The therapist may then suggest a prompt or theme for the clients to use as inspiration for their artwork
